Prerequisites
The AGETOR Workbench application requires:
- Java version 1.6 or newer.
- An AGETOR installation (to use the Workbench with)
. The AGETOR Workbench will work without these upgrades but some features will be disabled.
Installing the AGETOR Workbench
To install AGETOR Workbench, all you do is unpack the zip file download in the desired directory. No further work is required (other than making sure you have a Java Runtime Engine installed). When you unzip the file, it creates a subdirectory called "agetor-workbench", with multiple subdirectories under that. So, for example, in Windows you could unpack the zip file in the root directory (e.g., C:\) and AGETOR Workbench be installed in C:\agetor-workbench. Note that installing AGETOR Workbench does not change the Windows registry.
For Windows, a number of problems have been reported when people try to use Windows Explorer to unzip the zip file. Please use a third-party unzip program, such as Winzip, JustZIPIt, FileZip or EasyZip.
Installing Java
Since AGETOR Workbench is a Java program, you will need to have Java installed to run AGETOR Workbench. AGETOR Workbench can run on a number of Java Virtual Machines. The most commonly used Java is from the Sun Developer Network. Bording Data A/S officially recommends Java version 5 (also known as 1.5), but the newer version 6 (1.6) has been tested and found working also.
